Whispers Across the Tide: A Poem of Distant Love

The vast and heaving seas between us roar,
And leave my pillow cold where thou shouldst be;
My spirit walks alone upon the shore,
And casts a longing gaze across the sea.

I envy every cloud that travels west,
And iron birds that pierce the azure sky;
For they shall find the haven of thy breast,
While here, amidst the shadows, I must sigh.

Yet when the pale moon climbs her starry steep,
She watches o’er thy slumber and my own;
Thy whispered voice traverses oceans deep,
To warm the heart that beats for thee alone.

Fear not the miles that keep our hands apart,
For maps cannot confine a love so true;
Soon I shall clasp thee to my faithful heart,
And bid the lonely solitude adieu.

In the grand tapestry of romance, distance is but the thread that strengthens the weave. It teaches us that the union of minds transcends the separation of bodies, making the eventual embrace all the more divine.
