Parallel Fates: An Ode to Forbidden Love

Two stars we are, divide’d by the night,
Condemned to burn apart within the sphere;
Though in the gloom we see the other’s light,
The vast abyss shall never let us near.

Like iron rails that stretch across the plain,
We run beside, yet touch we never may;
I hear thy spirit singing through the rain,
But Fate commands we keep our sep’rate way.

A wall of glass, unseen yet cold as frost,
Does stand betwixt the beating of our hearts;
In thy sweet gaze, my weary soul is lost,
While cruel Time tears every hope apart.

So let us love within this silent grief,
For fruits forbidden bear the sweetest taste;
Our tragic tale shall be vibrant and brief,
Two phantom lovers in the endless waste.

Forbidden love is not a failure of will, but a triumph of the spirit against the odds. This piece reminds us that some connections are destined to remain purely of the soul, untouched by the decay of reality, existing only in the beautiful pain of longing.
