The Calm After: A Verse of Reconciliation

The tempest of my tongue hath dimmed thy light,
My wrath obscur’d the reason of my mind.
I curse the pride that brought this sudden night,
And left the warmth of summer far behind.

Now silence reigns where thunder lately crash’d,
I stand abased before thy sorrow deep.
Upon the rocks my foolish heart is dash’d,
Watching the vigil that the lonely keep.

Behold, the gale has ceas’d upon the plain,
Let now the sun pierce through the heavy gray.
Without thy tender love, my spirit lives in vain,
Lost in the shadows of a sunless day.

Accept this penitence I offer thee,
Let not the ice entomb what we hold dear.
I weave a future where our souls are free,
To love again, devoid of pride and fear.

True affection is often forged in fire and tempered by the grace of forgiveness. May these stanzas serve as the gentle hand that mends the fracture and restores the harmony your hearts deserve.
