The Vanquished Horizon: An Elegy of Distant Love

The Oath of Stars

The ocean spreads its waves of miles between,
Dividing us with tides of cruel space;
Yet love commands a power mostly seen,
When spirits meet in some ethereal place.

Upon the silver moon I cast my sight,
That pale companion of my lonely room;
And trust you gaze upon the selfsame light,
To banish hence the shadows and the gloom.

How sluggishly the hours creep along,
While I await a word from lands afar;
My heart hums softly separation’s song,
Guided faithfully by Venus’ star.

Despair not, love, for time shall lose its sway,
And bring an end to this our long divorce;
Soon breaks the dawn of that reunion day,
When love returns to its celestial source.

May these verses serve as the invisible bridge connecting your soul to your beloved, a gentle reminder that while bodies may be bound by geography, true affection remains boundless and free.
