The Horizon’s Bond: A Long Distance Love Poem

The cruel expanse that severs shore from shore,
I cast my gaze across the heaving tide;
Upon the wind, my spirit seeks the door
Wherein thy distant heart and soul abide.

The brazen sun may rule the waking day,
Yet in this exile, joy is but a ghost;
I wander lost along the lonely way,
And miss the gentle voice I treasure most.

But soft! The evening spreads its velvet veil,
One silver moon connects our separate skies;
It watches thee whilst worldly noises fail,
A bridge of light before my longing eyes.

No earthly bound can chain the soaring mind,
Nor leagues destroy the promise we have sown;
In nature’s breath, thy presence still I find,
Until the hour I claim thee for my own.

Even when miles divide, the heart recognizes no borders. This poem reflects on the enduring power of love to bridge vast distances, finding solace in the shared moon and the immutable promise of eventual reunion.
