The Horizon of the Heart: A Ballad of Distant Love

The vast expanse divides our mortal sight,
And wind conveys my sigh across the deep;
I search the azure sky for guiding light,
While shadows fall and lonely vigils keep.

Behold the golden orb that shines above?
It watches o’er thy brow as on my own;
A bridge of beams to reach my distant love,
Where seeds of sacred union have been sown.

Though miles may stretch in silent, cruel lands,
My spirit travels unfettered to thy side;
No map can bind the joining of our hands,
Within the heart, no distance can divide.

What matter seas or mountains rising high?
Our bond outlasts the fleeting span of space;
Beneath the vault of one shared, starry sky,
I feel the ghost of thy warm, dear embrace.

In the geography of the heart, distance is but a canvas upon which longing paints its most vivid masterpieces. This poem serves as a testament that separation is merely physical; the soul knows no borders, and love remains the only true compass.
