When shadows lengthen and the light decays,
And heavy burdens bow your weary head,
Know I stand watch through all your darkest days,
To guard your spirit from the ghosts of dread.
I am the fortress ‘gainst the howling gale,
The quiet haven where your tears may cease;
Though all the world around us seems to fail,
Here in my arms, you shall find lasting peace.
If in the mist your heart loses its sight,
I’ll lend the breath of life to fill your chest;
I remain steadfast through the longest night,
The solid earth whereon your soul may rest.
Fear not to fall, for I am built of stone,
A pillar strong to hold your crumbling sky;
You shall not walk this barren path alone,
While my devotion never shall run dry.
